8th annual On & Off Fredericksburg Road Studio Tour
Accepting Artist Applications Deadline to submit is Dec. 12
Bihl Haus Arts is accepting applications for visual artists, musicians, poets and gallery owners to participate in the 8th annual On & Off Fredericksburg Road Studio Tour scheduled for February 21-22, 2015.
Those interested must live and/or work in the following Fredericksburg Road surrounding neighborhoods: Alta Vista, Beacon Hill, Jefferson, Keystone, Los Angeles Heights, Monticello Park and Woodlawn.
“Our goal is to showcase the quality, variety and vast number of professional artists through the Fred Road Studio Tour,” said Kellen McIntyre, executive director of Bihl Haus Arts, which organizes the annual event. “We invite and encourage artists who have working studios in the participating neighborhoods, as well as those who live in the area, but have a studio elsewhere, to be part of the 8th annual Fred Road Studio Tour. We can arrange an alternative exhibition space for those who have studio space outside of the neighborhoods.”
McIntyre also invites musicians and literary artists to participate. “All musical forms and genres will be considered for performances that will enhance our studio tour of visual artists,” she said. “Poets will also have the opportunity to read their works at various venues.”
Artist Registration is now open. Deadline is 5 p.m. Dec. 12. For more information, contact Kellen McIntyre at firstname.lastname@example.org or (210) 383-9723.
8th Annual On and Off Fredericksburg Road Studio Tour
A self-guided two-day tour of artist studios and galleries “on and off” Fredericksburg Road in San Antonio, Texas.
February 21 and 22, 2015
Spend the weekend meandering through artists’ studios and area galleries. From reclaimed former neighborhood grocery stores to intimate backyard sanctuaries, the studios on the tour provide environments in which local contemporary artists create a variety of works, such as large-scale ceramic sculptures, metalwork, one-of-a-kind light fixtures, art photography, beadwork and embroidery, and painting in a variety of styles. Demonstrations, hospitality, and opportunities to purchase art are all part of the On and Off Fred experience.
