Danville Chadbourne earned a BFA in 1971 from Sam Houston State and an MFA in 1973 from Texas Tech. He has exhibited extensively at both state and national levels in more than 100 one-person exhibitions. He is featured in The Art of Found Objects: Interviews with Texas Artists by Robert Craig Bunch, released in October 2016 by Texas A&M University Press. His work is included in numerous private and public collections, including the San Antonio Museum of Art and the McNay Art Museum. In 2016, he held a residency at AtelierHaus Hilmsen in Germany and will return in 2017 for an exhibition of Texas artists at the Mönchskirche Museum in Salzwedel, Germany. Exhibitions in 2017 include a retrospective of small scale sculpture at the Martin Museum of Art at Baylor University, and solo exhibitions at Artspace111 in Fort Worth and Nicole Longnecker Gallery in Houston. Primarily a sculptor in clay and wood, Danville works in a range of materials and in both two- and three-dimensional formats.
