“I grew up in Southwest Oklahoma surrounded by farm animals; including my best pal Dude the donkey. This experience implanted a deep love of nature and all living things. During my childhood, I explored the gullies and untamed forests searching for curiosities found within their depths. I was fascinated with man-made remains washed up after hard rains or discarded ages ago, and how nature reclaims them for its own over time. My education led me to Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, for my BFA and Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, for my MFA. Throughout my education I reaffirmed an affinity for nature, animals and kitsch.
After graduation I moved to San Antonio where I currently reside, and have taken on several new titles such as co-director of Clamp Light Artist Studios and Gallery, Adjunct Professor at the Art Institute of San Antonio, and Informal educator at the San Antonio Zoo where I am able to continue my research from a new perspective.”
