Magic Mirrors Boutique, Gallery & Gifts

Jessica Cervantes opened Magic Mirrors in Castle Hills in 2012, but then decided to relocate to Fredericksburg Road in August because she loves the area’s historic architecture and burgeoning arts scene. Jessica has always loved art—her mother, Claudia Moriarity, whose oil paintings and giclee prints are carried in the shop, is a well-known artist from the Florida Keys. After being injured on the job in law enforcement, Jessica thought it would be a great adventure to act upon her love of art by opening a consignment boutique featuring handmade collectibles, jewelry and clothing created by local artists. Her husband Michael Cervantes, who recently left the military, joined in the endeavor and has found his real calling. He makes the unusual displays that grace the store and also fashions wire jewelry. This husband- and-wife duo believes that each piece in their collection tells a story about the artist who made it. So, they spend a lot of time talking to each prospective artist before deciding to carry their work.

Magic Mirrors also features works by Aaron Casas, of Casas Ink, who produces tattoo-inspired surrealist drawings, prints and clothing; Rosie Lopez, who crochets and makes crystal jewelry; and Ginger Rodriguez, of Silk Button, who creates pin-up style accessories and donates the proceeds to support adoption fees. They also carry beautifully packaged Rachel’s Plan Bee handcrafted natural bath and bodycare products.

Need a one-of-a-kind necklace to finish off that little black dress, a fashion t-shirt to wear with your favorite jeans, a colorful drawing, print or small painting to brighten a room, or a singular gift for that special someone? Then Magic Mirrors has got you covered!

Store hours: Tuesday through Friday, 11am to 6pm, and Saturday, noon to 5pm. Come on by during the studio tour for complimentary mimosas and cupcakes (while supplies last).
