Corazones on Fire storefront

Corazones on Fire is a vibrant studio environment in which participants learn a little culture; a little art history; drink a little wine or other beverage; and paint a masterpiece to take home.
Corazones on Fire hosts “Curandera: Healing Ourselves through Our Art,” an exhibition and performance organized by Debora Kuetzpal Vasquez, Corazones co-owner, Xicana artist and Assistant Professor at Our Lady of the Lake University. The project brings together OLLU alumnae featured artist Elizabeth Rodriguez, and guest artists Lilyanna-Mia Luna and Karina Cortes. Curandera is a mystical exploration of dance, music, visual art and spirit. This visionary work gives voice to a spiritual multidimensional true-life story of three generations of curanderas (healers) and their transcendence through worlds to give relief to women in struggle. Special events include a Painting Party on Saturday, February 18, noon to 2 pm, and a Curandera performance by Giomara Bazaldua, director of Zombie Bazaar Panza Fusion, and vocalist Bianca Sapet, on Saturday, February 18 at 5:30 pm and Sunday, February 19 at 4:30 pm.
