Gabbe Grodin is a Texas-based visual artist with a MFA from Rutgers in New Jersey and a BFA from Indiana University. She has studied painting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and printmaking and book-making at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica Venezia, and has been an artist-in-residence at the Vermont Studio Center. She has exhibited at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (IL), The Dallas Museum of Art (TX), The Kinsey Institute (IN), Columbia University (NY), Prince Street Gallery (NY), New York Studio School (NY), and The Painting Center (NY), to name a few. She has worked for arts institutions including The New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture and Artcritical.com, and she is currently teaching painting and drawing through the Bihl Haus GO! Arts program. In her daily painting practice, Gabbe rigorously explores the variety of painting media and techniques, sourcing the visual world around her to create diaristic works.
Gabbe invites visitors to sit for 30-minute portraits, which will be available for purchase, from noon to 5pm on Saturday, February 18, and 1 to 4pm on Sunday, February 19.
