“I was born and raised in Mexico City. I came to San Antonio 25 years ago to pursue my dream of studying art. I attended the University of Incarnate Word and graduated with honors with a double major in art and education. Two years later I started working on my master’s degree in art education at Texas Tech University. I graduated with honors in 1998. In 1993, I started working at St. Luke’s Episcopal School as the Art instructor. I stayed for 17 years. It was at St. Luke’s that I realized how important art is for human beings. I created a curriculum that included art history, was tied to the students’ daily learning and included drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, sculpture and fiber arts. This last discipline has become my passion and it constitutes my body of work.

At this time, I am retired. I dedicate my time to work at my studio, to teach drawing and painting to seniors in the Bihl Haus GO! Arts Program and to promoting the love of art.”
